Fishing in the Suffolk Countryside

Fishing is for campers only — £10 per day per angler.

Fishing at Cyder Farm takes place on our peaceful, well-stocked lake in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, close to the Norfolk border. The water holds a healthy head of carp up to 20lb, offering exciting sport for experienced anglers while remaining relaxed and accessible for those simply wanting to enjoy time by the water.

There is no public day ticket access. Fishing is reserved exclusively for those staying on site. This keeps pressure low, protects fish welfare, and maintains the calm atmosphere that makes the lake special.

Please read the Fishery Rules page before setting up.

Carp Fishing at Cyder Farm

The lake is stocked with a variety of carp, with fish reaching 20lb and continuing to grow. The water suits both traditional bottom tactics and lighter, mobile approaches.

Margins can be productive, especially in warmer months when fish cruise close to the edges. Patience, quiet movement and simple presentation often work best here.

This is not a commercial match lake. It is a natural countryside water where observation and timing matter.

Best Times to Fish

While carp will feed throughout the day, the most productive periods are usually:

• Early morning
• Late evening
• Warm, still conditions

Surface fishing in the early hours or just before dark can produce some of the biggest fish in the lake. Watching carp rise in flat calm water at first light is one of the highlights of fishing here.

On warmer days, floating baits or light stalking tactics can be especially effective.

A Peaceful Suffolk Fishing Spot

Cyder Farm sits just off the main road between Bungay and Halesworth, yet once inside the campsite it feels completely rural.

The lake is:

• Calm and sheltered
• Surrounded by open sky and trees
• Low pressure
• Ideal for relaxed sessions

It is designed for people who want more than just a quick visit. Camp beside the water. Fish at sunrise. Cook outdoors. Return to the lake in the evening.

Simple countryside fishing, done properly.
