Electric hook up at The Cyder Farm

Electric hook up campsite Suffolk is a bit of a long phrase, but it’s the easiest way to explain what these pitches are. Theyโ€™re simple, relaxed spots with power, right beside the lake on our smallholding. If you like having electricity for the basics, these pitches make life a bit easier. They work well for caravans, campervans and tents that need a steady supply for lights, cool boxes or little bits of kit. We donโ€™t have many of them, so they tend to get booked quickly once the warmer weather kicks in.

When you pull in, youโ€™ve got enough space to get yourself sorted without feeling packed in. Thereโ€™s the sound of birds most of the day, the odd splash from the carp, and the general quiet that comes with being tucked away in Ilketshall St Lawrence. Itโ€™s a gentle sort of place to camp. Nothing busy. Nothing rushed.

Electric hook-up

The EHU points give you the kind of power you need for calm, normal camping. Things like:

  • lights and lanterns
  • charging phones or cameras
  • cool boxes or low-draw fridges
  • air pumps and similar bits

It keeps everything ticking along without needing to run your van or fiddle around with extra kit.

โš ๏ธ A note about high-powered equipment

The system here isnโ€™t built for heavy electrical appliances. Itโ€™s a campsite supply, not a house supply, so the bigger items can overload it pretty fast. Things like:

  • electric heaters
  • kettles
  • microwaves
  • toasters
  • air fryers
  • hair dryers

Any of these can trip the power for everyone on that circuit. We always ask guests to stick with low-draw gear and treat the hook-up like a steady drip rather than a full-on mains supply.

Youโ€™ll also want a minimum 5m cable to reach the box comfortably. Ten metres is even better if youโ€™ve got one.

A bit more about the area

These pitches sit around the lake in a loose way, not in perfect rows or anything like that. You get a bit of breathing room and a proper countryside feel. The hot tub is close by, and itโ€™s one of the nicest spots at sunset. Youโ€™ve also got easy access to the fishing lake if you fancy a few hours by the water.

If you want to get out and explore, weโ€™re not far from Bungay, the Broads or the coast. You can find more campsite details or fishing info using the links below.
